MEMBERSHIP SYSTEMAccording to CUPSA’s regulation, all postgraduates of the CUHK are able to register to become CUPSA’s Basic Members (Membership Fee: HKD 90/Year) or Attribute Members (No fees needed).
Basic Members Eligibility: All postgraduates of the CUHK (as defined by the Senate of the University) are eligible to apply for basic membership in the CUPSA. Membership fee: Basic members are required to pay the one-time membership fee HKD 90. Those who remain their membership on the effective date of CUPSA constitution (July 1, 2010) will automatically become basic members. Rights: 1. Right to participate and speak in all the general meetings held by CUPSA; 2. Right to participate in the referendums of CUPSA and vote; 3. Right to participate in the election of CUPSA Executive Committee; 4. Right to nominate and vote for CUPSA Executive Committee; 5. Right to request CUPSA to communicate their opinions to the university if it is in accordance with the CUPSA constitution; 6. Other rights stated by CUPSA; 7. Right to withdraw the membership. Obligations: 1. To abide by the rules of CUPSA; 2. To abide by the decisions of general meetings, referendums, joint conferences, and other meetings by CUPSA; 3. Do not conduct any activities contrary to the interests of CUPSA.
Attribute Members Eligibility: All postgraduates of the CUHK (as defined by the Senate of the University) who do not apply for basic membership would automatically become attribute members of CUPSA. Membership fee: No membership fees needed. Rights: 1. Right to request CUPSA to communicate their opinions to the university if it is in accordance with the CUPSA constitution; 2. Right to withdraw the membership. Obligations: 1. To abide by the rules of CUPSA; 2. To abide by the decisions of general meetings, referendums, joint conferences, and other meetings by CUPSA; 3. Do not conduct any activities contrary to the interests of CUPSA.
